2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, Round 1 – Paul Ricard (France)
Points finishes for the VSR cars in Super Trofeo opener
The VSR drivers took points finishes in the first round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship this weekend. Fin Green raced alone in the Pro category and scored a solid points finish on Sunday in his Super Trofeo debut weekend. Racing in Pro-Am Miguel Cristovao and Paul Levet took two fourth place finishes, narrowly missing out on a brace of podiums.
Saturday morning qualifying saw Green and Levet out in Q1. Getting his first taste of Super Trofeo racing, rookie Green took a place on row six. Levet was the third quickest Pro-Am driver and lined up for race one on the fourth row. When the lights went green Levet was quick away but at the first corner was pushed wide and fell down to ninth. Green maintained position and was running well until he was hit by Spina on lap three. The contact tipped him into a spin and he fell back to twenty-fourth. Two laps later he was the victim of a second contact and was forced to retire. The pit window opened on lap nine but Levet, running eighth overall and third in Pro-Am, stayed out and benefiting from a clear track was one of the fastest men on track. He boxed on lap thirteen, the last Pro-Am car to pit, and Cristovao took over. The Portuguese driver joined the race in fifth place overall, first in Pro-Am. With three minutes left on the clock the top four Pro-Am cars were covered by just a handful of seconds but an ambitious move from Biglieri pushed Cristovao off track and he lost positions, taking the chequered flag fourth in class.
In qualifying for Sunday’s race Green improved to line up’s best time was good enough for row four. Cristovao was fourth fastest in Pro-Am and took his first Super Trofeo start from the seventh row. A flying start from Green saw him sixth at the end of the first lap as Cristovao lost a position. As the race progressed Green battled with Fraboni and Bengtsson and Cristovao fought with Biglieri for fourth in Pro-Am. The driver change window opened on lap ten and Cristovao pitted for Levet. The 66 stopped a lap later and Green stayed onboard. The English driver took the chequered flag sixth in Pro for his first points of the season. Levet pushed hard for his whole stint and passed Ruffini on the penultimate lap to take fourth in Pro-Am.
